A
Glencoe picture, the Pap of Glencoe, in
the heart of the Scottish Highlands, allowed John to
excell in his ability to use strong bright colours offset
by deep rich shadows.
The
pap of glencoe rises above glencoe village to dominate
the landscape, rich in mountain scenery, and marks the
north end of the glencoe mountains, with Buachaille-etive-mor
at the south end, rising above the kings house hotel
at the entrance to the pass of glencoe.
This
area of lochs and mountains attracts tourists world
wide for its scottish history, culture, scenery, and
outdoor recreation of winter skiing, mountaineering,
and walkers on the west highland way.
