The
heather garden has dwarf conifers as well as a good collection of Japanese
azaleas, Rhododendrons, Junipers, bell heather, white stemmed silver birch
trees and young specimens of Cornus Kousa and Leptospermum Red Damask.
Over the courtyard the tall stone built south facing retaining walls create
a very warm microclimate that is excellent for growing those exotics unusual
in east Scotland.
The outdoor grape vine "Brant" thrives,as well as fig "Brown
Turkey" and every summer a display from the white highly scented
Brugmansia.
